If you’re used to hearing the Emporia’s severe weather sirens being tested on Wednesday, you'll have to get used to another day – the sirens now will be tested on Saturdays.
According to a press release from the Emporia Police Department, next week the sirens will be tested at noon on Saturdays and will continue that way each Saturday at noon through September.
For more details on this story, see Thursday’s Gazette.

Great...The weekends here in Emporia are quite busy--a lot of visitors. Take for example, a soccer tournament, when there is a siren right by the fields. Not a good idea Zimmerman.

You are right esufan24 - Maybe a "do-over" on that might be a good idea.
