Minimal evidence of accident

Monday, March 23, 2009

An Osage City woman was treated and released at Newman Regional Health on Sunday afternoon after a two-vehicle incident at North Kansas Highway 99 and Burlingame Road.

According to information from the Lyon County Sheriff’s office, Amy Sumner of Osage City was driving a Chrysler Town and Country minivan north on Highway 99 when a southbound Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Christian Leech swerved into the northbound lane.

Sumner braked hard and Leech swerved the Chevy back into its own lane.

The sheriff’s report stated there was no physical evidence of an accident, and witnesses in both cars said the vehicles did not touch. A passenger in the Sumner vehicle, however, said that the vehicles did collide and showed scratch marks on the Chrysler’s bumper.

Sumner was treated for pain in her back and neck.
