THIS LETTER is in response to Don Moberly’s letter: “What happened here?”
I would have to say that I agree. Granted, I was born in Emporia but I have lived in various towns in other states. Part of the appeal of these other towns was the uniqueness and variety. Emporia needs to focus on improving the quality of its business rather than increasing the quantity. Honestly, how many Subways and pizza places do we need? By having a unique variety of quality businesses, I believe Emporia will be able to keep more business at home.
