Scrabble Scramble Fund Raiser Committee and the Emporia Literacy Program

THE EMPORIA LITERACY PROGRAM and the Scrabble Scramble Fundraiser Committee wish to thank the businesses, organizations and individuals who made the Scrabble Scramble so successful. The event raised a little more than $3,000, the highest amount raised in its history. The funds will be used to buy books and materials for the students of the Literacy Program and other program needs.
The event was partnered by the Flint Hills Technical College Student Senate. The sponsors for the Scrabble Scramble were Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corp., Tyson Fresh Meats, Capitol Federal, CoreFirst Bank & Trust and Emporia State Federal Credit Union.
Significant donors were Flint Hills Eyecare Associates, ESB Financial, Sauder Custom Fabrication, Hopkins Manufacturing Corp., Don Hill, William’s Automotive, Casey’s General Stores, and Dr. and Mrs. L.H. Houchin. We thank all of them for their generous support.
Prizes for the Scramble were donated by Dickinson Theaters, Madelyn’s, Hastings Entertainment, Forget-Me-Not Productions, Dwyer’s Hallmark, The Buckle, Honeysuckle Lane, Planet Sub, Wheat State Pizza, Gambino’s Pizza, Starbucks, Emporia Farmer’s Market, Sweet Granada, Centinela Mexican Restaurant, Granada Coffee Co., Mike’s Sporting Goods, Cable One, Crawford Furniture Store, Town Crier, Amanda’s Bakery Café, Pizza Ranch, L & L Pets, Papa John’s Pizza, Subway at 935 Industrial Road, Guion’s Showcase, Second Love, William’s Automotive, Casey’s General Stores, Makin’ Waves, AKA The Sports Fan, Coburn Family Restaurant, Stage, and Coach’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar.
