Spring break — no school this week.
Friendship Meals
Emporia
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave.
Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For home delivery, call 340-8001.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: pulled pork, bun, baked potato, peas, frozen peach cup.
Tuesday: chili, coleslaw, crackers, cinnamon roll.
Wednesday: chicken-fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy,green beans, wheat roll, cake and ice cream.
Thursday: soft taco with cheese, lettuce, black bean salad, tortilla, fruit cup.
Friday: fish sandwich, macaroni and cheese, tomatoes, Rice Krispy treat, bun, orange juice.
North Lyon County
Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: vegetable beef soup, meat salad sandwich, crackers, tropical fruit salad.
Tuesday: corned beef and cabbage, new boiled potatoes, rye bread, cake with icing.
Wednesday: salmon patty with cream sauce, potatoes, Italian-blend vegetables, bread, fruited gelatin.
Thursday: barbecue chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, bread, peaches.
Friday: hamburger on a bun, lettuce, tomato, pickles, baked beans, creamy strawberry fluff.
