Sirens not working
The Emporia Police Department is reporting that the outdoor warning systems located in the areas of Jones Park, 1500 Merchant St. near Emporia State University and 4000 W. 18th Ave. near the TRYSA soccer fields are not working. In the event of severe weather, these sirens will not sound. People should be observant of weather conditions and tune to local radio and television broadcasts or their NOAA weather radio for information.
