Superintendent is hired at Madison

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

MADISON — The Madison-Virgil school district will have a new superintendent beginning July 1 following the school board’s decision to hire Ryan Bradbury, assistant principal at Shawnee Heights High School in Tecumseh, USD 450.

The decision to hire Bradbury was made Monday evening, according to the Madison-Virgil school board office. Bradbury received his bachelor of arts degree in chemistry from Washburn University in 2000 and his master of arts in school leadership from Baker University in 2004. He has served as assistant principal at Shawnee Heights High School since 2006. He also teaches science at Shawnee Heights and has held that position since 2000.

Bradbury will be coming to Madison-Virgil from a large school district — Shawnee Heights High School has about 1,200 students from ninth to 12th grade. There are about 3,500 students in the district. Madison-Virgil has about 120 students in its elementary school and 120 in its high school.
