You don’t have to go into the Flint Hills to enjoy the music of the Symphony in the Flint Hills. A reception will be held this year in Emporia before the big event.
The reception will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 24 at the Granada Theatre. An ensemble performance will be at 6:30 p.m.
This is the fourth annual Symphony in the Flint Hills. The symphony will be on June 13 on a private ranch in the Flint Hills near Florence.
Tickets for the prelude concert are free while supplies last. Tickets can be picked up at The Emporia Gazette, 517 Merchant St.; ESB Financial, 801 Merchant St. and 12th Avenue and Industrial Road; the Emporia Chamber & Visitors Bureau, 719 Commercial St., and the Emporia Arts Center, 618 Mechanic St. There is a limit of four tickets per person.
During the event, light refreshments will be available and a drawing will be held for tickets for the fourth Annual Symphony in the Flint Hills. Guests must be present to win.
