ESU loses to Washburn

Final
Washburn avenged two regular season losses and beat Emporia State, 88-82, on Thursday in the first round of the MIAA tournament.
Robert Moores scored 31 to lead the Hornets. Emporia State’s season will most likely end with the loss. The Hornets were ranked 10th in the most recent regional rankings.
After making 7-of-10 3-pointers in the first half, ESU made only 2-of-10 in the second half.

Emporia is halfway to a three-game sweep of Washburn. The Hornets lead 43-35 at halftime in the first round of the MIAA tournament.
Robert Moores has three 3-pointers and leads the Hornets with 17 points. The Hornets are 7-of-10 from beyond the arc.
Jeremiah Box has made both his 3-point attempts and has 11 points. Lamar Wilbern has eight points.
