A self-described street philosopher delivers the keynote address for the Women’s History Month observance at Emporia State University this week.
Karen Warren, professor of philosophy at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., speaks on “Trees. Water. Toxins. What do Environmental Issues Have to do with Women?” at 7 p.m. Thursday in Visser Hall Room 330 on the ESU campus.
One of the world’s leading eco-feminist philosophers, Warren will discuss global environmental issues and their impact on people. She calls herself a street philosopher because she believes that philosophy is relevant to people of all ages, in all cultural, geographic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Warren’s address is open to the public. For more information, call Karen Manners Smith, Women’s History Month coordinator, at 341-5570.
