City commission agenda

The Emporia City Commission will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the City Commission/Municipal Court Room, 518 Mechanic St. for its regular action session. Items on the agenda include:
• Consideration of a request from Corner House for a landfill donation.
• Award bid for squad cars for the Emporia Police Department.
• Award bid for repair of the Soden’s Grove bridge.
• Approve resolution to close off specified downtown parking for the Artist’s Walk.
• Approve resolution exempting timed parking around the Civic Auditorium for specified events.
• Adopt an ordinance creating a Transportation Development District fund.
• Adopt an ordinance amending the zoning code to permit public uses in the I-1 and I-2 zoning districts.
• Approve a reappointment to the library board.
• Executive session to discuss non-elected personnel.
• Report from city manager on city activities.
• Proclamations thanking Kayla Oney for her services at Emporia Main Street, naming March as Red Cross Month and creating R.A. Day at Emporia State University.
