Public radio station KANU in Lawrence remains off the air in Emporia. The station itself was knocked off the air on Monday because of a parts malfunction, but the station had been off in Emporia for a week after a violent lightning storm apparently damaged the station’s relay transmitter in Emporia. The station is available online at kansaspublicradio.org/index.php.

KPR's reception in Emporia has been poor for years. I've emailed them only to be told to tune to 89.7 not 91.5. After I told them I was tuned to 89.7 I got no response. We used to donate to them, but their completely liberal slant put a stop to that.

They must have fixed their problem. They're back on the air this morning. All things considered, they have excellent programming.
