DeAnna L. Meece made her first appearance in Lyon County District Court at 11 a.m. today, after being charged with intentional second-degree murder in the June 17 death of her companion, Ricky Nurnberg.
Shortly after noon, she remained in the Lyon County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond.
An arrest warrant for Meece had been issued Monday, after police filed an affidavit with the court.
She is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. July 17 before District Judge Lee Fowler. The hearing will determine whether she will be bound over for trial on the charges.
Lyon County Assistant District Attorney Amy Aranda is prosecuting the case.
Meece appeared this morning as her own attorney, according to electronic court records. The physical file for the case had not yet been returned to the office of Clerk of the District Court Christine Brammer.
