Business owners will have an opportunity to mingle and enjoy free food and the opportunity to win a six-day combo pack from The Emporia Gazette during the Emporia Main Street Mingle Thursday afternoon.
Casey Woods, executive director of Emporia Main Street, said the Main Street Mingle is an event Emporia Main Street plans on holding once a month this year. This month’s Main Street Mingle will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Emporia Gazette, 517 Merchant St.
“This Main Street Mingle will be our first one that we’ve had in a while,” Woods said. “We’re using it to promote both The Emporia Gazette and Business Appreciation Month.”
June was deemed Business Appreciation Month by the Kansas Department of Commerce.
Woods said Thursday’s event is free.
“It’s just a chance for all our business owners to network and get out and mingle,” Woods said. “It’s just something that Emporia Main Street does to promote our businesses and our partners in a free environment.”
During the mingle, one business card will be drawn for the chance to win a six-day advertising combination pack.

Count me in! I'll be there. It will give me a chance to see if Bobby has torn down the no-smoking sign again.
See you there.

love the pic with the anti-bacterial swipes in it.
come on people, This is our local news outfit, they don't have time to keep it pristene clean. with all the factual studies and stuff they report they don't have time for a little dusting. Times are hard, businesses have to cut back where they can. let's all cut them some slack or the next thing you know Chris will be laying off Gwen or Pat.

Ooooooh, I love that song!!! Seriously, I want you to know that you are responsible for my adding a few new songs to my playlist. Gonna add this one toot sweet.
As to dust...yes, I see it now. I guess someone needs to get busy with a little swiffer thingy. Me? I don't dust. Years ago, I promised myself that when I got my Master's Degree and could more easier afford it, that I would hire a housekeeper to do dusting and big dirty work. That was in 1993. She comes every other week and does all the dusting, deep cleaning and vacuuming. I've never touched a dust cloth since. It's the best $70 a month I've ever spent. I count her and the man who mows my lawn as two of the important people in my life.

I like to think of myself as the DJ of Emporia Gazette online. I'm glad people enjoy it and hope it makes people smile.

Ah, great!! Has anyone seen that episode of Friends where Monica shows up at Ross's date's apartment in the middle of the night with all her cleaning stuff because she couldn't sleep after Ross had told her how dirty it was? I'm kind of having a Monica moment right now.

Wonder how the Gazulus would react if we all showed up en masse to dust their stuff? After all, they do provide us with a lot of entertainment and ways to spend our time. The least we could do...
I've got the can of compressed air...hee hee hee.

Yeah Gwen, but I can manage those who do. I've been managing large groups of people for a long time. :)
