School board reception

Mary Helmer and Homer Garza will be honored for their public service at a reception before the June 24 board meeting at Mary Herbert Education Center, 1700 W. Seventh Ave. The reception, which is open to the public, will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the board room at Mary Herbert.
Helmer did not seek re-election to the board in the spring and will complete her term at this meeting. She was elected to a four-year term in the spring of 2005.
Garza resigned from the board in August, in the final year of his second four-year term. He was first elected to the board in the spring of 2001.
