Emporia Main Street’s Annual Meeting was not only an opportunity to conduct yearly business but a time to showcase the past, the future and to showcase businesses in Emporia.
During the meeting, several awards were given out and new officers were elected. The outgoing president and incoming president addressed the crowd during the meeting.
Outgoing president Deborah Huth wasn’t able to attend the event, but wrote a letter that was read to the group. Huth said Emporia Main Street received $50,000 in funding from the City of Emporia.
“As in the past, it was again commented that Emporia Main Street gives the City of Emporia the best return on its investment on any program that the city funds,” Huth said in her letter. “Our business members also continue to see a great return on their investment in the program as we continue with the undertakings of each committee.”
