Emporia Gold coach Alex Reyes said his team wasn’t ready to play in the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday against the Andover Trojans.
After a 9-8 loss, the Gold woke up and beat up the Trojans 12-3 in a run-rule win in six innings in Game Two.
“We played a lot better the second game,” Reyes said. “We looked like we were ready to play the second game. The first game we were all flat. We weren’t really well prepared, but the second game they came out to play and didn’t want to lose two on the road to this type of team.”
