Five of the nation’s top teachers will arrive Wednesday to take part in activities leading up to their inductions into the National Teachers Hall of Fame.
The 2009 inductees are: Kenneth Bingman, biology teacher at Blue Valley West High School, Overland Park; Leslie Nicholas, seventh-grade English teacher at Wyoming Valley West Middle School, Kingston, Pa.; Steve Rapp, physics teacher at A. Linwood Holton Governor’s School in Abington, Va.; Patrice McCrary, kindergarten and grade one teacher at Cumberland Trace Elementary School, Bowling Green, Ky.; and Jerry L. Parks, seventh-grade social studies teacher, Georgetown Middle School in Georgetown, Ky.
Each has been assigned to a local host couple that will accompany them to formal and social events during the teachers’ stay in Emporia.
