Big inning leads to Emporia Gold elimination

Another big inning was enough to tell the tale for the Emporia Gold team on Saturday morning, as they ended their appearance in the Jock’s Nitch Classic with an 8-0 loss to Manhattan Manko Jr.
Manhattan batted around in the first, plating six runs on only four hits, while taking advantage of two Emporia errors. Starter Daniel Finch struggled with his control initially, but by the time he settled down, his defense still hadn’t, and Manhattan poured it on.
