The Andover Jaguars just kept pouring it on, and Emporia Gold was almost helpless to stop them.
The Gold’s second game in pool play at the Jock’s Nitch Classic was one they would’ve liked to have forgotten before continuing tournament play today. After handily defeating the Emporia Thunder 11-6 in the tourney’s opening game Friday morning, the Gold saw Andover put together two huge innings — a six-run first and a nine-run fifth — and parlay those into a five-inning, 16-2 run-rule win Friday afternoon at Soden’s Grove.
