Wonders deadline

Voting for the 8 Wonders of Kansas Cuisine will come to an end at midnight Monday. The Kansas Sampler Foundation said in a news release that people still have four days to vote the latest in a series of events to promote the best in Kansas life. The 24 restaurants that are semi-finalists in the contest all have ballots available. People may also vote online at www.8wonders.org. Ballots postmarked on Monday will be accepted.
In the Emporia area, the Grand Central Hotel at Cottonwood Falls is a semifinalist, as is the Hays House in Council Grove. To the east, Guy & Mae’s Tavern, a popular purveyor of barbecue in Williamsburg, is also on the list.
