The Emporia Blues got their games in, and they hustled to finish them off as if they just knew that more rain was going to roll in any minute.
The Blues pounded Manhattan Pro Copy 12-0 in just four innings in the first game, led by three hits and four RBIs from Matt Fry and a combined no-hitter from Ethan Hall and Brian Keisler. The second game changed it up a little, but not much — Emporia headed into the bottom of the fourth ahead by two runs before an eight-run onslaught produced another run-rule win, this one by a 12-2 score. The Blues were done with their Wednesday night’s work before daylight had expired, which was preferable to the rainout that postponed the Blues’ Tuesday game at Lansing.
