Emporia State center fielder Conner Crumbliss was selected by the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday in the 28th round of Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft.
The A's drafted the 5-foot-8 Crumbliss as a second baseman, where he played to begin his ESU career. He was selected as the MIAA's player of the year this past season and led the Hornets to a runner-up finish at the Division II College World Series.
