A Cottonwood Falls woman is hospitalized following a car accident on Interstate 35 Tuesday.
According to a report by the Kansas Highway Patrol, Vicki Thornton, 57, of Cottonwood Falls, was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center following a two-vehicle accident at Milepost 184 northbound in Franklin County. Phillip Thornton, of Cottonwood Falls, was driving a Toyota passenger car around 1:05 p.m. when he fell asleep and went into the center median, struck a guardrail and came to rest in the median. He was no injured. Vicki Thornton was taken to the hospital where she is having knee surgery.
