Pony rides were the most popular attraction at the Flinthills Mall on Saturday during the Winding Road Roundup.
The Roundup was held to draw attention to the need for foster homes and funds to support the Winding Road Equine Rescue and Retirement ranch in Coffey County.
The non-profit organization is involved in rescue, rehabilitation, and finding homes for abused, neglected or unwanted horses.
The group got some good news recently, when internationally known horse trainer Pat Parelli announced that he would feature a Winding Road rescue horse at a training clinic he will hold July 24 through 26 at Kemper Arena in Kansas City.
“That is a huge deal for us,” said Winding Road founder Kristin Chambers.
