Ribbon cuttings on calendar

Two Emporia businesses will have ribbon cuttings next week. The incorrect dates for the festivities were published in Saturday’s Gazette.
Curves will be the site of a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. June 16 to celebrate new ownership. Sherry Davidson and Darrell Schneider bought the business in May. They have already expanded hours — it is now open from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays — and remodeled the interior. Other plans involve bringing back popular incentive programs.
At 11:30 a.m. June 18, chamber members plan a ribbon cutting to celebrate Big Brothers Big Sisters’ new office, 702 Commercial St., B-2. Refreshments will be served.
