Summer Meals Program
BREAKFAST
Monday: continental choice.
Tuesday: continental choice.
Wednesday: continental choice.
Thursday: continental choice.
Friday: continental choice.
LUNCH
Monday: hot dog on a bun, Spartan fries, broccoli florets and dip, mandarin oranges.
Tuesday: Bosco sticks, marinara sauce, tri tater, baby carrots and dip.
Wednesday: country-fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, hot roll, diced peaches.
Thursday: burrito, nacho chips, cheese sauce, tossed salad, strawberries.
Friday: chicken patty on a bun, tater tots, green beans, pineapple.
Juice and milk are served with breakfast; milk is served with lunch.
Free summer meals are served at Logan Avenue, Riverside, Timmerman, Walnut and William Allen White elementary schools and Emporia Middle School and Emporia High School.
Friendship Meals
EMPORIA
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave.
Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For home delivery, call 340-8001.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: hamburger on a bun, baked beans, coleslaw, lettuce, onion and pickle, pudding.
Tuesday: turkey tetrrazzini, vegetable salad, wheat roll, watermelon, cookie.
Wednesday: pork chop, hash brown casserole, beets, wheat bread, brownie.
Thursday: baked chicken, party potatoes, cucumber and onions, wheat bread, peaches.
Friday: cheese meatloaf, baked potato, green beans, wheat roll, grapes.
NORTH LYON COUNTY
Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: meatloaf, baked potato, green beans, bread, blushing pears.
Tuesday: baked chicken, macaroni salad, cucumbers and onions, bread, grapes.
Wednesday: baked fish, au gratin potatoes, carrots, bread, chocolate cakes with fruit.
Thursday: hamburger on a bun, lettuce, onion, pickle, coleslaw, sliced tomatoes, watermelon.
Friday: roast pork, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, hot roll, cherry cheesecake.
F Menus are provided by the senior meal programs and the Emporia school district.
