Friday Thoughts is a light-hearted commentary.
THERE ARE SOME rumors floating around town that Emporia kids did well on their school assessment tests. The phrase “We kicked ass” might have even been used by one high-up unidentified school source to describe the results.
It should be noted that when Americus schoolchildren met their goals, teacher Rick Ginter, principal Aron Dody, school board member Bill Leffler and North Lyon County Superintendent Steve Mollach kissed farm animals. The children enjoyed watching Ginter kiss a donkey, Dody kiss a pig, Leffler kiss a goat and Mollach kiss a calf.
If, in fact, Emporia children “kicked ass” I wonder whether Emporia’s school superintendent will be heading over to Emporia’s Zoo to start lockin’ lips with some of Emporia’s slithery, furry or beaked friends?
