When Bob Fornelli made his first National Championship game with Fort Hays State in 2000, he said he tried to control too much, made unnecessary changes and his team did not play well.
On Saturday after Emporia State’s 2-1 loss to Lynn, Fornelli had no regrets.
“I think we approached it right today; we just didn’t come up with a couple hits,” Fornelli said. “We knew we weren’t going to light it up offensively and do a lot of great things. We weren’t going to score as many runs. We had some opportunities, we just didn’t capitalize on them.”
