Friday Thoughts is a light-hearted commentary.
ON TUESDAY, I took the kids to the Emporia High School for swim lessons. After we got there, we were told that because of lightning, lessons had been canceled. My oldest daughter Grace, who likes to ask questions, started in.
“Why is practice called off?”
“Why does it matter if it is lightning outside when we are inside?”
“Do the windows make a difference?”
“If there were no windows, could we swim?”
“Umm ... Daddy, can a person get electrocuted if they are in the pool?”
“How many people have been electrocuted in the high school pool?”
When I don’t have answers to all her questions, she ends most of our conversations saying “Daddy you are not very smart. Where did you get your education?”
My daughter has helped me realize that as an Emporia High graduate, my teachers didn’t give me all the answers that I would need to get through life. This makes me wonder how the Emporia School superintendent would hold up under an intense line of questioning from an 8-year-old, and whether he would have all the answers.

Observation......
I believe create was trying to point out that the saying reddog was quoting usually reads "What a revolting development this is.".....not what a revolying moment.
Now weather or not moment or development was used in the Life of Riley program I would have no idea.
I also have no idea why I'm sticking my nose into this at all.:-)
