The Emporia Arts Council Gallery, 618 Mechanic St., is showing the “1,000 Words Project” art exhibit “which challenged Kansas high school artists to create biographical portraits depicting a famous figure that had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia,” stated the news release. “The result is an engaging and informative display.” Each portrait celebrates the many achievements that occurred over the famous person’s lifespan, proving once again that “a picture is worth a thousand words.” The exhibit is on display through Saturday.
