Tuesday, July 28, 2009
Four Emporians will play in next month’s Senior Olympics in the San Francisco Bay area. Greg Bachman, Ted Hollembeak and George Milton will all play tennis, and Bob Symmonds will play racquetball.
The Senior Olympics will be held August 1-15. They are held every two years with participants aged 50 years and older qualifying during their State Games the previous year. More than 40,000 individuals nationwide attempt to qualify each year, and only the top two state qualifiers in each age bracket in each sport advance.
