Allen man dead after rural accident

An accident just south of Allen happened after the vehicle left the road, hit a tree and flipped. A 91-year-old man was killed in the one-vehicle crash.

A 91-year-old Allen man was pronounced dead at the scene of a one-car accident late Monday morning in the 3300 block of Road L, also known as the Allen Road.

According to Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Wessel, Alvin B. “Pete” Pykiet was driving a car that left the road, went into a ditch and overturned

North Lyon County First Responders and Emporia-Lyon County emergency medical technicians also responded to the accident.

The investigation is continuing, pending results of an autopsy.

A complete obituary and service arrangements will be announced by Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
