Don Day family

The Don Day family were hosts July 12 at their country home, Days’ Acre Country Club near Council Grove, for the annual James Giger family reunion. A potluck dinner was enjoyed by all, along with the usual homemade ice cream, said the reunion reporter. There was a lot of visiting done and games of volleyball, croquet and golf were available to be played. The reporter said, “A cow pasture golf tournament was enjoyed by many.” There were four teams of players. Mindy Arndt was the winner of a plaque for the Bull’s Eye Award of the tournament.

The oldest person attending was honored guest, Doris Giger Day of Council Grove. The youngest was Tristin Clark of Fairbanks, Alaska.

The hosts were Don and Carole Day, Jeff, Kerri and Nikki Kelles of Manhattan, Rob and Carmen Krause of Talmage and Lance Day of Wichita.

Those attending from out of state were Kenneth and Ginger Giger and Kim Hart of Wichita Falls, Texas; Katlyn Giger of Converse, Texas; and Kristin and Tristin Clark of Fairbanks, Alaska.

Attending from Kansas were Wayne and Darlene Giger of Kansas City; Clyde and Lois Bush and Marvin and Terri Bush of Allen; Rick Bush of Salina; Ned and Diane O’Mara of Emporia; Joyce Miller of St. John; Woody and Pat Ecord of Cassoday; Samantha Cunningham of Derby; Kris Olivier of Andover; Jim and Barbara Blackburn and Brett and Suzy Blackburn, Nikki and Michael, of Topeka; Linda Blackburn of Hutchinson; Bruce and JoLeen Day; Pete Day and Nikki Meador and Ben and Lisa Jarvis of Council Grove; Luke and Mindy Amend of Whitewater; Derek and Sondra Sparks of Tonganoxie; Dean and Maria Day of Hesston and James Day of Manhattan.
