Burlington
The Coffey County Republican reported that Darl Henson is the new Extension agent for the Chase County office as an agriculture and natural resources agent. He will start his new job on Aug. 2.
Madison
The Madison News reported that the Madison City Council approved the budget for 2010. The mill levy will stay the same at 110 mills.
Chase County
The Chase County Leader-News reported that the school district’s capital outlay fund is growing. USD 284 Superintendent Greg Markowitz presented end of the budget year adjustments/transfers of funds to the Board of Education at a recent meeting. The major adjustment made was to the district’s capital outlay fund which grew from $135,570.75 at the beginning of the year to $251,332.69 at the end of the year.
