From jazz to tap to ballet and hip hop, a new dance studio in town will teach it all, starting in September.
It has always been Ginny Samples’ dream to open up a dance studio, she said.
“I’ve danced since I was 2 1/2,” Samples said. “I’ve taught as well. It’s just been a dream of mine to have my own dance studio and teach. I love kids and I love dance so it works out great.”
Samples, who will be opening the dance studio on Sept. 8, said she will teach students from 3 years old to adult. She will teach jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop and pointe. Pointe will be by private lesson only. She also will teach country line dance and will assist with wedding dance choreography for anybody who wants to do something fun for that first dance after a wedding.
Enrollment for the dance studio is going on now and classes will start on Sept. 8. The studio will be in the basement of the Kress Center, 702 Commercial St. There will be a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 18 and an open house from 5 to 8 p.m.
The hours of the dance studio will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. For more information and enrollment, call 344-0664.
