Training planned
for health insurance counseling
Training sessions are planned for people who want to volunteer for Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansas (SCHICK).
Sessions through the North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 13, 14, and 25 at the Area Agency on Aging, 401 Houston St., in Manhattan. Training for returning counselors will be Aug. 26.
SCHICK volunteers receive training about Medicare, Medicare prescription drug insurance, supplement insurance and other health insurance subjects that concern older Kansans, according to information from the agency. The north central region of Kansas particularly needs counselors who can help people understand, compare and enroll in Medicare Part D prescription drug plans.
Counselors primarily are needed during the enrollment period, from Nov. 15 through Dec. 31.

Card shower requested
