Tuition stimulus

PITTSBURG — Pittsburg State University officials say the university will use federal stimulus money to give students a break on tuition this year.
Pittsburg State President Steve Scott said Monday that the university will spend $375,000 of its expected $2.7 million in stimulus funds to reduce a tuition increase by $50 per semester for the next two semesters for full-time resident students.
That means the tuition rate increase for in-state students will drop from 6.8 percent to 4 percent, or from $116 more per student to $66 per student.
