The Emporia Energy U-18 softball team finished in fourth place at the State tournament this weekend at Trusler Sports Complex.
The Energy put together just five hits in its first tournament game, losing to the Legit on Friday by an 11-3 score. Elyse Hecht started for Emporia and took the loss. After that defeat, the Energy put together three wins in a row on Saturday, beginning with a 5-3 victory over the Sunflower Sluggers. Hecht and Javyn Carl each had a pair of hits for Emporia, and Hannah Lynch had a double.
