The Emporia board of education will be busy next week with a budget study session on Monday and a regularly scheduled board meeting on Wednesday.
The budget session will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the regular board meeting at 7 p.m. Both are open to the public and will be held in the Mary Herbert Education Center, 1700 W. Seventh Ave.
The Wednesday meeting will include a review of the preliminary school and district Adequate Yearly Progress status report and a review of the quarterly budget report.
The board also will consider approving a request to publish notice of an annual budget hearing scheduled next month.
A public budget workshop will start at 6 p.m. on Aug. 5, with a formal budget hearing to begin at 7 p.m. that evening.
