Granada Plaza & Lofts has a second tenant — a hairdressing salon, it was announced this week.
Bravo Salon will open Aug. 4 in the newly built Granada Plaza & Lofts, at the corner of Eighth Avenue and Commercial Street. Shawna Short, Heather Bailey and Aimee Morris will be opening the salon together. Short has six years experience in the field; Bailey, 13 and Morris, 19. Together they will offer hair care for the entire family including men, women and children. Morris does manicures, pedicures and acrylic nails.
The salon will have some unique touches, including a 1920s theme to go along with the theme of Granada Lofts. The countertops will be granite and furniture will have claw feet. There also will be track lighting and a chandelier.
“Everything that we are doing will go along with the theme of the Granada,” Short said.
The salon also will have free-style hair dryers. The dryers, which are the rage in larger cities such as New York City, are suspended from the ceiling and are pulled down with a cable. When the user is done with the dryer it goes back into the ceiling.
“It’s something nobody else is going to have,” Short said.
The salon’s hours will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Evenings and Saturdays will be by appointment only.
