School clothes
Collections for the 5th annual Back to School clothing giveaway have begun at the Grace United Methodist Church.
“We are asking for donations of money or new to slightly used clothing and shoes for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade children,” a news release stated.
Donations may be dropped off at the church, 2 S. Neosho St., between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
The clothing giveaway will be on Aug. 8 at the church.
Fund for cancer treatment
An account has been established at Citizens State Bank in Madison to accept donations on behalf of Beth Dains Pees, who is being treated for cancer.
The account will help defray expenses associated with the disease. She has received radiation and chemotherapy at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, and currently is receiving additional chemotherapy treatments at the Cancer Center in Wichita.
Cards and notes may be sent to her at 1686 350th St., Madison, KS 66860.
Donations may be sent to Citizens State Bank, PO Box 306, Madison KS 66860.
Plans are under way to begin a series of fundraisers for Pees and her family.
