Scholarship fund

Friends of the Flint Hills Community Health Center is soliciting donations for a new scholarship fund honoring Arlene Eichorn. Eichorn, a longtime employee of the health center, died in 2008.
The group’s goal is to raise $15,000 to establish an account with the Emporia Community Foundation, which would administer the fund.
The scholarships would help train licensed practical nurses, dental hygienists and other medical personnel.
Checks should be made payable to the Emporia Community Foundation, with the letters FoFHCHC in the lower left corner. The checks may be sent to Friends of FHCHC, c/o Scott O’Mara, 420 W. 15th Ave., Emporia, KS 66802.
Donations are tax-deductible.
