Approximately $700 worth of fireworks was stolen on July 4 from the First United Methodist Church’s fireworks stand on South Prairie Street.

Lyon County Sheriff Gary Eichorn said that the theft apparently happened between midnight and 8 a.m. on Saturday.

The case is under investigation.
