The Northern Heights girls scored 28 points in the first quarter on their way to a 72-41 win on Friday night against Crest.
It was the Ladycats first action since losing in the Flint hills Shootout championship game last Saturday.
Andrea Miller had a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Miller also had four assists, five steals and two blocks. Amy Lee added 15 points and four assists, and Tess Hobson was the only other Ladycat in double figures with 11 points.
“I thought that we played pretty well tonight,” NHHS coach Tim Riemann said. “We have been battling some illness all week and I was very proud of our effort. I thought that offensively we did a great job finding the open man and knocking down some shots.
“Defensively I thought that we could have played better, but I was happy with our second half. The girls are playing very well together and I see a lot of progress.”
