Floyd Casebier of Emporia is the recipient of the Williams Automotive Scholarship and Emporia Flatland Cruisers Scholarship.
Since the Williams Automotive Scholarship was established in 2002, $4,000 has been awarded to eight students in the Automotive Technology Program who have demonstrated above average grades, attendance and a commitment to automotive technology as a profession. Not only do Rex and Debbie Williams support the college through this annual scholarship, they are also major event sponsors for the annual benefit auction. Rex serves on the Automotive Technology Advisory Committee and the FHTC Foundation Board of Directors. Emporia Flatland Cruisers established their scholarship in 1998. Since that time $5,500 has been awarded to twelve deserving students in the Automotive Technology Program. The proceeds from the car club’s car show raises money to support this scholarship. The Emporia Flatland Cruisers were sponsors of the Foundation’s Poker Run this past October.
Jessica Schuereman of Fayetteville, Ark., and John Williams of Emporia are the recipients of a Graphic Arts Technology Scholarship. This one-time scholarship was awarded to students who had completed at least one full-time semester in the Graphic Arts Program and demonstrated academic achievement.
