Emporia High girls bowling team finishes second at Manhattan

Emporia High’s girls bowling team finished second in a four-team bowling tournament in Manhattan on Tuesday, and the Spartan boys finished fourth. The tourney was the Spartans’ last before their first-ever home tournament this Friday at Flint Hills Lanes.
Morgan Michels led the Spartan girls with a three-game series of 583, bowling a 211 in her final game. Caitlin Martin rolled a 541 series, Stephanie O’Dell bowled a 513, and Whitney Brooks rounded out Emporia’s team scoring with a 477. Kristin Nomura and Ashley Frizell bowled a 409 and a 324, respectively.
