ESU men lose 2nd straight on the road

Final

Emporia State went scoreless the last 6 minutes, 6 seconds and lost 67-56 on Saturday at Northwest Missouri.

Alex Pyle gave the Hornets a 3-point lead at the 6:06 mark, and the Bearcats ended the game on a 14-0 run.

Robert Moores led ESU with 19 points and Jeremiah Box and Alex Pyle both added 12 points.

Emporia State falls to 7-4 in the MIAA and into a tie for third place with Nebraska-Omaha, one game back of conference leaders Southwest Baptist and Central Missouri.

Half

Northwest Missouri held Emporia State scoreless for the first 6 minutes, 31 seconds and the Hornets trail 37-26 at half in Maryville, Mo.

Robert Moores leads the Hornets with 14 points. Moores made 4-of-5 3-pointers and is the only Hornet with more than four points.

Northwest Missouri shot 51.7 percent in the first half, and jumped out to a 11-0 lead.
