ESU women blow out Fort Hays State

Final

The Emporia State women gave Fort Hays State its worst of the season, 90-51, on Wednesday in Hays.

The Lady Hornets had five players score in double figures, led by Ida Edwards’ 19 points. Edwards also had 10 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season.

Andrea Leiker scored 17 points and went over 1,000 points in her career. Leiker and Boston both made four 3-pointers.

Boston scored all 14 of her points in the first half; Brittney Miller scored a career-high 15 points and had 11 rebounds for the first double-double of her career. Allie Renberg scored 12 points in her first start of the season.

Erica Biel led Fort Hays State with a career-high 31 points.

Half

The Emporia State won shot 51.4 percent and had only four turnovers in the first half and lead 60-40 at Fort Hays State.

Cassondra Boston made four 3-pointers and leads the Lady Hornets with 14 points. Ida Edwards had nine points and six rebounds; Andrea Leiker has made two 3-pointers and has eight points.

For the Tigers, Erica Biel has 18 points. The rest of the team is 4-for-13 from the field.
