ESU men fall out of first place

Final
Emporia State fell out of a tie for first place on Wednesday night, losing at Fort Hays State 78-68.
The Hornets trailed by only two at half but shot 36.7 percent in the second half. The Tigers shot 55 percent and built a 14-point lead with 9:32 left, and the Hornets were never able to get any closer than seven.
Tim Niles scored 14 points to lead the Hornets, and Adam Holthaus added 13. Jeremiah Box and Lamar Wilbern both scored 12 points.

The Emporia State men trail at Fort Hays State 34-32 at half.
Lamar Wilbern leads the Hornets with 10 points and four rebounds; Adam Holthaus has eight points on 3-of-4 shooting.
The Hornets shot 40 percent in the first half, while the Tigers shot 50 percent.
